Name: Justin Morgan
Occupation: Evolve USA Staff
Home: Oceanside, California
I grew up in Arizona but moved to Carlsbad just before freshman year of high school. I started skating at the age of twelve. I bought my first board while on a family vacation to Australia and have loved the sport ever since.
I also partake in other activities such as bouldering (rock climbing), running, and hiking. On my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, my cat and my girlfriend, Carol. The people closest to me are the most important aspects of my life.
Traveling abroad is very important to me as well. I believe seeing the world not only opens my eyes to new experiences but strengthens the mind as well. Meeting people and trying new things is what life is all about. While traveling, I found my love for Scotch and now think of myself as a connoisseur of sorts.
I did a couple years of college but never found what I wanted to do with my life. Now I want to go back and study photography, graphic design, and videography.
How did you first learn about Evolve Skateboards?
My friend Joe Dubya and I would frequently go skating with normal skateboards and we both thought "This would be so much better if they had motors". Evolve was among one of the few options for electric skateboards at the time but with a noticeably superior range so I went ahead and bought a Generation 2 Carbon with AT tires. Since then, my life has changed forever.
Which boards do you own?
Over the years I have owned three Gen. 2 Bamboos, three Gen. 2 Carbons, two Bamboo GTs, and my favorite, the Carbon GT.
What do you love about them?
The ability to switch from All-Terrain to Street wheels in minutes is amazing. I can slide and drift then switch to off-roading within an hour. I also ride to and from work on my Carbon GT which takes a ton of stress off of the daily commute. Lastly, the Evolve boards are the only electric boards on the market that I have found powerful enough to do continuous drifts and donuts.
Favourite Place to Ride:
My favorite place to ride is a nice smooth BMX track or an empty indoor car parking lot.
